After the Civil War, Captain John Carter travels to Arizona with his friend, fellow veteran James Powell. When James gets murdered by Native Americans, John hides in a cave and is knocked out by a strange gas. When he wakes up, he is no longer on planet Earth.

Full of action and a good, cheesy romance, 'A Princess of Mars' is the first book in the Barsoom series and follows the adventures of Captain John Carter on Mars as he tries to rescue the Martian Princess Dejah. In 2009, the movie adaptation 'John Carter' was released, starring Taylor Kitsch and Willem Dafoe. B. J. Harrison started his Classic Tales Podcast back in 2007, wanting to breathe new life into classic stories. He masterfully plays with a wide array of voices and accents and has since then produced over 500 audiobooks. Now in collaboration with SAGA Egmont, his engaging narration of these famous classics is available to readers everywhere. Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950) was an American writer known for his fantasy, science fiction and adventure books. He started writing after reading stories in pulp-fiction magazines, thinking he could come up with something much better. And so, 'Tarzan of the Apes' was born.
