Concerted, international efforts to tackle the imminent threat posed by climate change are vitally important. In A Closer Look at Climate Change, referring to a philosophy of science called critical realism, the authors explain why evaluating climate change adaptation interventions is challenging. This compilation concludes by describing the measures taken by Oman in relation to the environment since the 1970s. The origin of the UNESCO Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Preservation and its establishment in 1989 is also discussed.
